Michael Ruckles is the music director for the UNC School of Theatre at UNC. Originally from Cañon City, Michael studied piano at the University of Southern Colorado before completing a degree in Voice/Music Education at UNC. Michael lives in Greeley with his wife Lindsay, where he maintains a busy voice studio. At UNC, he has music directed/conducted Forever Plaid, Grand Hotel, A Chorus Line, A Grand Night for Singing, Oliver!, 42nd Street, Bat Boy, My Way, The Sound of Music, Jekyll and Hyde, the world premiere of Go-Go Beach, and the annual New York City Senior Showcase. Michael served as the guest musical director for Voices of Freedom, a Denver fundraiser benefiting the victims of 9/11, and in 2001, sang backup for Sarah Brightman’s “La Luna” tour. During the summer of 2005, Michael was thrilled to join the staff of Ann Reinking’s Broadway Theatre Project in Tampa, Florida.
