Dr. Harding received his Doctor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1986. Additional degrees include a Master of Music in Instrumental Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Education in Instrumental Music, both from Eastern New Mexico University. Dr. Harding taught music K-12 for nine years in the public schools, and is in his 12th year of teaching music education at the college level. His specialty areas include general music, instrumental music, low brass, computer assisted instruction in music, philosophy of music education, music advocacy, psychology of music teaching, and music curriculum development. Harding is an active member of the Music Educators National Conference and the Colorado Music Educators Association. Dr. Harding co-founded the San Jose (CA) Coalition for Music Education, served as both California and Colorado State Collegiate MENC Chairperson, taught and conducted workshops for the Bay Area California Arts Project, and served on the Executive Board of the California Council on Music Teacher Education as President and Member-At-Large. Dr. Harding serves as faculty advisor for CMENC and is the program administrator for the newly established Orff-Schulwerk Training Program at UNC.
