Charles Hansen has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jackson Symphony, the California Philharmonic and is currently principal bassoonist of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sinfonia of Colorado and the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed as principal bassoon with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Hansen is a participant in the Utah Music Festival in Park City, Utah, a member of the faculty of Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, Colorado and has performed with the Cabrillo Music Festival, Strings in the Mountains Festival and the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. He studied bassoon with Crawford Best, John Hunt and K. David VanHoesen. He received the Bachelor of Science degree from Hofstra University, and the Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts degrees and the Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music.
