Marie has received her Masters degree from Yale University in the areas of set and costume design.  She has worked under the tutelage of Ming Cho Lee, Jane Greenwood,  Michael Yeargan  and Jess Goldstein.

Upon graduating she apprenticed with Peter Wexler, Tony award winning designer in New York City.  Marie has designed several productions for the Yale Repertory Theater as well as Walden Media,  a Walt Disney production company in Los Angeles. 

She was written up in the NY Times for her set design for the US Premiere of “Fighting Words,” directed by Liz Diamond. 

While at UNC she has designed the sets for “The Tempest” and “The Titanic”, and sets and costumes for “Falsetto’s.”  Also for Little Theatre of the Rockies, she designed sets and costumes for “Over the Tavern”.  Current projects include “Heartbreak House”, directed by David Grapes and “Hairspray” for the International Thespian Festival, directed by Vance Fulkerson.

Marie has worked on various freelance designs and continues to freelance from her studio at home while teaching full time at UNC.
