Kappa Kappa Psi Scholarships
Seven years ago, the Alpha Theta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at the University of Northern Colorado established the “Strive for the Highest” annual scholarship to honor two high school seniors who strive for excellence through service to their band programs each year.
We would like to recognize the high school students who do the same diligent work to better their own bands. Each winning student will receive a one-time scholarship of $250 contingent upon his or her attendance at UNC, participation in a UNC band during his or her first semester, and a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. We are looking for the kind of student who is always willing to help and exhibits a genuine love of music regardless of playing ability.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a diverse committee of students in Kappa Kappa Psi and faculty members in the band department. We will choose two students to receive this scholarship. The winners will be introduced at the 2008 Colorado All-State Bands festival during the Directors’ Luncheon, and their names will be engraved on a plaque at UNC’s Foundation Hall.
Applications are provided and need to be postmarked by Friday, March 7, 2008
