Little theatre of the rockies

“‘Broadway transplanted to Greeley, that is the idea of
The Little Theater of the Rockies,”
said the Greeley Tribune announcing the first season in 1934. At the end of that first season, the paper’s theatre critic wrote: “When the final curtain ending a successful summer season at the college closed, the summer dramatic organization received an ovation the equal of which this writer does not recall in local theater history …” Happily, The Little Theatre of the Rockies has fulfilled its promise – this season the schedule includes five great shows brought to you by outstanding students, faculty, and guest artists. We recommend buying a season subscription, allowing you to see all five shows for the price of four, as well as providing you with other subscriber benefits.

The Boys Next Door is touching comedy that tugs at the heart as well as the funny bone – honest, original, poignant, and refreshingly funny. Full of memorable characters who, like all of us, are looking to love, laugh and find some purpose.

Opera diva Maria Callas, a glamorous, larger-than-life, and surprisingly funny pedagogue, is holding a voice master class at Julliard. Alternately dismayed and impressed by the voice students who parade before her, she retreats into recollections about the glories of her own life. Included in her musings are her younger years as an ugly duckling, the unforgiving press that savaged her early performances, her triumphs, and her affair with Aristotle Onassis. In her musings, she reflects on the sacrifices we make in the name of art. Winner of the 1996 Tony Award for Best Play.
