It's 1950-something, and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna, four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana are making their national television-singing debut. "Spotlight on Music," a fictitious weekly 1950s television show on the real-life Dumont Television Network, sets the framework for an evening of some of the greatest hits of the 1950's. A tribute to the girl groups of the 1950s, The Taffetas pay tribute to the sounds of The McGuire Sisters, The Fontane Sisters and The Chordettes. Opening Off-Broadway almost two years before "Forever Plaid," The Taffetas made nostalgia what it is today! Spend an hour and a half with The Taffetas and remember what Sunday night television was like on your 12-inch black and white screen! If you are a fan of Forever Plaid or just love ‘50s music, then you won’t want to miss this charming musical.

This musical was one of the first collaborations of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The pair would go on to write Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita together, before continuing esteemed careers separately. Webber's music for Joseph is simple, yet quite melodic, and incorporates various styles including pop, country, reggae, vaudeville, and rockabilly, among others. Songs include "Jacob and Sons," "Close Every Door," and "Any Dream Will Do." Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges as both timely and timeless.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a retelling of the Old Testament story of Jacob and his twelve sons. Joseph is the favorite son of Jacob, but his jealous brothers sell Joseph into slavery. However, Joseph overcomes the odds to become a high-ranking official under the Egyptian Pharaoh, in large part thanks to his ability to interpret dreams. After many years, he is finally reunited with his family.

Noel Coward’s romantic romp Hay Fever (part of the very first LTR season in 1934) is set in the hall of the Bliss family home. The eccentric BlissesJudith, a recently retired stage actress, David, a self-absorbed novelist, and their two equally unconventional children live in a world where reality slides easily into fiction. Upon entering this world, the unfortunate weekend guestsa proper diplomat, a shy flapper, an athletic boxer, and a fashionable sophisticate are repeatedly thrown into melodramatic scenes wherein their hosts profess emotions and react to situations that do not really exist. The resulting comedic chaos ends only when the tortured visitors tiptoe out the door. Crafted by the greatest comic genius of the 20th century, Hay Fever is sure to delight the entire family.

Al Lewis and Willie Clark played vaudeville as a team for forty-three years, but mutual dislike has keep them far apart for the last eleven years. Now CBS wants them to appear in a television special “The History of Comedy” and their reunion sparks delirious comedy. An award-winning feature film starring Walther Matthau and George Burns this classic comedy had had numerous professional revivals including a 1998 Broadway production that featured legends Jack Klugmann and Tony Randall. This 75th Season production will feature a stellar cast featuring longtime LTR favorite Dan McNally (most recently seen in Bus Stop 2007), and his brother Tom McNally (LTR’s own Artistic Director) together on stage for the fun, farce, and fireworks. The Sunshine Boys will be directed by Denver legend Anthony Powell whose credits include productions at the Denver Theatre Center and Julliard.

Langworthy Theatre
Forever Plaid, one of the most successful musicals in the 75-year history of The Little Theatre of the Rockies, returns to the Langworthy stage!
Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who loved to sing. They all met in high school, when they joined the audiovisual club (1956). Discovering they shared affection for music and entertaining, they got together and dreamed of becoming like their idols - The Four Aces, The Four Lads, The Four Freshmen, The Hi-Los and The Crew Cuts. They rehearsed in the basement of Smudge's family's plumbing supply company. It was here they became Forever Plaid - a name that connects the continuation of traditional values of family, home and harmony.
Through the powers of harmony and the expanding holes in the ozone layer, in conjunction with the positions of the planets and all that astro-technical stuff, they are allowed to come back to perform the show they never got to do in life. The songs they sing during the course of the musical include: "Three Coins in the Fountain,” "Undecided,” "Gotta Be This or That,” "Moments to Remember,” "Crazy 'Bout Ya, Baby,” "No, Not Much,” "Sixteen Tons,” "Chain Gang,” "Perfidia," "Cry,” "Heart and Soul,” "Lady of Spain,” "Scotland the Brave,” "Shangri-La,” "Rags to Riches,” and "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing."
