Our college of the arts is extremely fortunate to be located where the unique gifts of our students are so appreciated and supported. The very first Gala in 1982 was conceived and organized by people in the community who wanted to showcase the exceptional skills of the students, while at the same time raising funds to support their dedication to their studies.
Studying in the arts certainly is a discipline, and beauty is often born from intense effort. The endeavors of these students in the classroom, in the studios, in rehearsal and behind the scenes are clearly evident in the quality of the work they present.
And the ultimate goal truly is the presentation, the offering of the work to an audience. You are the link that completes the chain. One-on-one with the art in a gallery or in a packed house rising to your feet in fervent applause, you matter to us more than you may ever know. For that, we thank you sincerely and repeatedly.
And we will, of course, ask you just as sincerely to please continue your enthusiasm for our work. We invite you to join us on February 11th to see and hear what more than 500 students from the University of Northern Colorado College of Performing and Visual Arts have to offer for the 30th annual Gala one-night arts festival. You are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the visual arts show and reception in Tointon Gallery before taking your seat in the beautiful Monfort Concert Hall for a performance that promises to be moving, joyous, and surprising.
Plans for the 2012 celebration build on past successes and expand our offerings to take audiences beyond their expectations. Our continued success depends equally on you – our patrons. To mark this 30th anniversary of showcasing student talent and the power of community support, we have set a goal of $30,000 in private contributions to the College’s Gala UNC Foundation fund. Please consider a gift in addition to your ticket purchase.
