The arts provide inspiration, enrichment and empowerment. Development of
arts and cultural heritage is also critical to educational and economic growth. The
Colorado Council on the Arts (CCA), a state agency, combines state
funds with federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, and invests
in communities across the state to ensure that the cultural, educational
and economic benefits of the arts are enjoyed by thousands of Colorado youth
and millions of Colorado citizens and visitors every day.
Success Through Art (StART) Schools Arts Education Comprehensive
Planning or Implementation Grants
One of CCA’s goals is to “Expand access to quality arts
education for young people” by promoting and supporting arts learning
for youth, including formal training in the arts as well as arts infused
into other disciplines or fields. By helping schools plan and implement arts-rich
environments, CCA will support meaningful collaboration among Colorado K-12
public schools and districts, artists, and arts/cultural organizations, resulting
in opportunities for increased student engagement and improvements in academic
achievement and behavioral development for all Colorado students.
Comprehensive Arts Education Planning Grants refer to planning efforts by a school or district to make standards-based arts instruction and/or integration of the arts into other subject areas an integral part of the basic curriculum for students.
Arts Education Implementation Grants refer to the implementation
of an existing five-year plan by a school or district to make
standards-based arts instruction and/or integration of the arts into other
subject areas an integral part of the basic curriculum for students.
