Celebrate the Beat: A Look at the Impact of an Artist-in-Residence Dance Program. This report details a survey we conducted of a school-based dance education program in Avon, Colorado, called Celebrate the Beat, which is affiliated with the National Dance Institute. We begin with a brief overview of the history of dance as a subject matter in schools, followed by a discussion of the National Dance Institute and related programs and a brief review of research literature related to the effects and effectiveness of school dance programs.

CIAE Research Study Funded by the National Art Education Association:The Center for Integrated Arts Education works with state and arts advocacy agencies to promote the “core” value of the arts and arts education.  It was determined important to investigate the unbiased perceptions of students concerning the role of arts study within their broader education. A preliminary study was conducted in the spring of 2009. Download the results:

The Dana Foundation: The Dana Foundation is a private philanthropic organization with particular interests in brain science, immunology, and arts education. The Arts Education initiative at Dana supports innovative programs leading to improved teaching in the performing arts in public schools. Harvard Project Zero: Project Zero's mission is to understand and enhance learning, thinking, and creativity in the arts, as well as humanistic and scientific disciplines, at the individual and institutional levels. Organization also has strong research on family involvement.
