CCA Fast Track Grants for 2007 (download Word Document )

The Colorado Council on the Arts announces that applications will be available September 18, 2007 for “Fast Track” Arts Education Planning Grants. The deadline for submitting grant applications is Thursday, October 18, 2007. Public or charter schools and school districts in Colorado are eligible to apply for arts education planning activities that take place between November 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008.

CCA’s renewed investment in Arts Education follows the convening of a statewide Arts Learning Task Force, which recommended CCA provide funding through partnerships with schools, districts, community arts groups and higher education, support teacher professional development in the arts, and establish a grant program to help develop demonstration projects.

Applicants for the nine-month grants can request a maximum of $3,000 per school or $6,000 per district, and will be asked to match the funding request by providing 25% of the costs in cash and in-kind. Requirements for the Fast Track grants are that applicants develop a five-year arts plan and a broad-based Arts Committee, that they involve arts groups/artists in planning, include professional development for teachers, and attend one mandatory CCA networking/training meeting. Application forms will be available on CCA’s web site www.coloarts.org on September 18.
