Governor’s Commission on the Arts in Education:
Findings
and Recommendations July 2006
The July 2006 report from the Governor’s Commission on the
Arts in Education summarizes 2006 state level arts education policies,
including legislation regarding arts education, arts as an admission
requirement to state colleges and universities, state or district
level arts assessment and the implementation of No Child Left Behind. It
identifies areas for further research and gives recommendations
to strengthen arts education. The commission was chaired
by Mike Huckabee, governor of the state of Arkansas. More information
