Dr. Anna Ursyn
Professor of Art and Design

Anna Ursyn leads the Computer Graphics program in the School of Art and Design. The Computer Graphics program focuses on two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer graphics, animation, multimedia, web design, concepts in visualization, information graphics, and the history of computer art graphics. Computer Art courses are aimed toward the student's progress in art making and computer generated image creation, cognitive art, personal expression of artistic problems , and graphic solutions in communication. This platform is interdisciplinary in nature and offers students ways of integrating scientific concepts with their own artistic solutions. Students accepted for competitions, publications, awarded student volunteer positions, won awards at conferences and had works published in textbooks

Anna Ursyn had over 30 single art shows, participation in over 100 juried and invitational fine art exhibitions, such as: Immaginando '97, Digital Visions of Etruria, (Honorable Mention), Grosetto, Italy, juried; M.I>A>D> Venado Tuerto 2006, Argentina (second place winner) ACM/SIGGRAPH (Association for Computer Machinery/Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics) Conferences 1989,'90,'94,'95,'98,'99,'01,'02,'03,04 (two images and animation) '05, '06, '07, '08 and ACM/SIGGRAPH and traveling shows; Der Prix Ars Electronica 1988-2008; Eurographics 1991, 1996 (Artistic Merit Award), 1998, 2006, ISEA SCAN, 20th Century Matrix, NTT Museum, Tokyo, Japan (7 year lasting exhibit of 5000 texts and 2000 images describing XX Century); Winner of BauBoden, Deutsche Bau- und Bodenbank AG, "Computerkunst/Computer Art" '96,'98, '02, '04, '06 Gladbeck, Germany, and traveling shows.
